Biography

Doctor of Medicine, Fellow in International Nutrition and Nutritional Epidemiology (Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA), Public Health Specialist. Coordinator of the First National Survey of Nutrition and Health of Argentina. Associate Professor in Public Health, School of Medicine, Universidad de Buenos Aires. Author of more than 60 publications including books and scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals.

He has received 10 awards for scientific work related to child health and nutrition (among which the World Health Organization's 2016 Excellence Award), act as reviewer in several international scientific journals, acted as jury of 12 and a director of 8 fellows and theses of Master's and PhD programs (including students from the London School of Economics and Columbia University). Assistant Editor of Argentine Archives of Pediatrics.

Since 2010 Dr. Duran is the Regional Advisor on Perinatal Health at the Latin American Center for Perinatology, Women's and Reproductive Health (CLAP). PAHO-WHO.
